Screenplay Rewrites

It's not unusual for a screenplay to need rewriting or doctoring. In fact, it's very common, especially in Hollywood. Different writers bring different strengths to the table, and producers, directors and stars all have different perspectives on material.

Perhaps you 've written a screenplay yourself, and while you like some of it, you feel just doesn't succeed  to the degree you had hoped. Maybe you hired a screenwriter to write a script based on your idea, and the writer failed to realize your vision; it just isn't what you wanted.

After years of critiquing screenplays for others, and as a screenwriting instructor, allow me to share this obervation: tt is much easier to identify weaknesses in the screenplays of others than it is in your own work, and very often you need someone with some distance to take a crack at the material with a fresh eye.

I will rewrite your screenplay, or I will "doctor" it. The difference is I receive secondary credit on a screenplay I rewrite and I receive no credit on a screenplay I doctor.

My fee for rewriting a screenplay is $1,500 and my fee for doctoring a screenplay is $1,800. I can do the work in four weeks. I require my entire fee upfront. I include one round of additional revisions in my fee. You retain all rights.
